Hi All!
I am currently in place in Alberta with little to no internet. For those of you waiting for updates, They will be coming on the 26th. I am taking this opportunity to update you all as I will not have internet for long. I am however getting a full amount of 'Walking Dead' and 'Baldurs Gate' and will have plenty to write about.
I will have a full review and a critique once the game is finished. The critique will be for those who don't want spoilers. Hoorah for content! lots is on the way - I'm just sorry it has to wait until after Christmas. I am also working on a collection of creative non-fiction stories I want to publish which will pretty much be a 'My Canada' kind of deal. I want to capture the life of this country as the point of view of one of its citizens. I'm hoping a few other folks could chip in and make a nice piece of down to earth Canadian literature.
I have a lot of writing and playing planned and I am so excited to do so. Hopefully soon I can introduce you to the second blogger as well, that will be posting for Beholders Digest- once she's done school and has a little more time on her hands.
Lots and lots of content is planned for the end of this year and the new year!
Merry Christmas and May the Rolls be with You~

Day 6 - Hardest Decision
I left through the back of the pharmacy with Carley. We snuck through the town as quietly and quickly as possible to find Glenn. The wreak of the walkers filled this whole damned town, made me want to vomit every few steps. If I knew I could eat tomorrow, I probably would vomit. But wasting such little food would most likely mean my death. Holding back my gags and signs of great fear and displeasure, Carley and I finally made it to the Motel. Damn thing was swarming with walkers.
While I was scouting out the place, sounds of movement started coming from the ice machine right beside us. I immediately thought we aroused a walker and was about to be in another fight for our life as the only weapon with us was a pistol - and we all know that would have drawn a whole damn army of those fucking things onto our doorstep. Gritting my teeth, I stood next to Carley and awaited to see what would spawn from this dead machine. To our luck, but not to Glenn's, Glenn popped out of the machine almost wanting to be relieved as what met him was the barrel of a gun.
I quickly diffused the situation and lowered the point of Carley's gun. Glenn told us how he was surrounded by walkers and hid in the machine and hopped they would leave. He had found out that a woman was trapped in one of the motel rooms and tried to help her, but her wailing attracted the walkers and Glen found himself surrounded by the drooling and moaning monstrosities. He used some quick thinking and disappeared into the ice machine before the walkers notice him.
Damn kid almost died out there. I'm thankful he knows how to act in situations like that.
We were about to head out when Glenn pitched the idea of saving the woman in the motel. This was a bad idea, but I knew it was the right one. We got into a quick spat with Carley before I managed to convince her to help as well.
We surveyed the area and found that there were six walkers in the vicinity. There was one devouring a body in the middle of the parking lot right beside a motor home; one passively sitting up against a car near the lot entrance; one scratching at the maintenance door; one behind the motor home; and two clawing at the wailing girl's room.
We huddled behind an old truck and laid out our plan. A screwdriver found in the trucks cabin would be a perfect tool to start off, the problem was breaking into the truck. As we were devising how to get the screwdriver, I noticed a pillow. A pillow would be perfect for the first kill. I told Carley to follow me to the first walker sitting up against the car. At first she did not understand, but I was able to show her that the pillow would make a great silencer. She shot the first walker with little to no noise. We managed to get into the car, where I found a spark plug. I popped the car into neutral and pushed it into the walker by the maintenance door trapping it.
Glenn told me that a spark plug would be perfect for getting into the truck. He broke the plug, and we were able to break the passenger side window of the truck where I then proceeded to grab the screwdriver. This made dispensing the next walker easily. The one in the middle of the lot was easy enough to sneak up on and skewer the tool into the back of it's skull, dropping it like a sack of rotten potatoes. The one hiding behind the motor home would be one of the harder ones. If I screwed up here, I'd be dead or bitten... which is worse.
I lulled the walker into our general area and managed to fight it off and scatter it's brain with the primitive weapon in my hands. The rest was a cakewalk. I strutted over to the trapped walker and decorated its face with some new accessories. I may have lost the screwdriver, but I was able to gain a fire axe. The group and I walked up the stairs where I quickly beheaded the decomposing assailants. The woman cried for us to go away, but we didn't listen. We were there to save her dammit and we wee not going to leave her there to die - or that's what we had originally thought.
We managed to coax her out, but it was a horrifying surprise. The woman had been bitten. I didn't know what to do next until it was asked of me. The woman new what fate awaited her and she wanted help to end it before she became one of those things. Carley and Glenn were against it, but sometimes the right choice is usually the hardest to make. I gave the woman the gun and told Carley and Glenn to start going. I will remain to collect the gun when the deed is done and follow them back to the store.
That was the first time I witnessed a suicide... and I hope it will be the last.

The Short Hiatus
Good Evening fine readers!
(Good morning or night for the different time zones)
I have been on a short hiatus from writing, even after such a short time. I managed to gibble my right arm, making it difficult to remain on a computer for long periods of time - even short periods of time. This left my arm in much pain after a hard day's work and has deprived me of my need to play all my illustrious Steam games. Oh how I have missed them... and Minecraft.
My arm has returned to almost near optimal condition so I can start playing everything again. I am already behind on setting up the much needed shop system on my minecraft server - VancouverCraft. I have a D&D campaign scheduled for tomorrow, so the next update on the great 'The Walking Dead' serious may not come until Sunday, so please stay tuned.
On the D&D note, I will begin setting up a radio cast of our D&D sessions which may or may not be interesting. We will see how that goes. I know some folks out there want to hear what happens in the true bowels of Geekdom, not just the video gaming surface, but the deeper bowels of the underworld known as analog games.
That's right, I'm talking about good old fashioned Pen & Paper. There are gamers and comic book geeks - and then there are those that fall even deeper that it can get scary- Seriously, but not really. It can get weird. I can be fun and funny though as a DM (Dungeon Master for you analog virgins) I like how my group of adventurers act when given a small obstacle, a goal to attain, and full freedom to do what they please to achieve that goal and overcome the obstacle.
I have found that a few of them have been video gamers for far too long. This is funny as well as frustrating. They keep expecting me to give them tools, limitations and hints on to how to go to the next step. They have been spoon fed for far too long. I am on a mission to have them be freed from video game oppression, spoon fed design, and expected results and hooks. They struggle like children trying to walk for the first time when told they have to make their own decisions on how to tackle a problem. If I did my campaigns like video games, they would probably get further faster, but it would cut down on the parts I get to watch them struggle.
An example would be: A few of their party are stuck in a trap, a net of vines, every time they try to bite their way out, the vines shift and move. That was all the information given. At first some of the party were expecting the text "Cannot chew through vines" as most games would do - the other half expected the vines to immediately break and they would be free. Keep in mind that the players were stranded with nothing on them, but they have the ability (if the rolls are right) to create any tool they want, and interact with the environment however they want.
What happened instead was one player getting swallowed by a plant and the other falling and hurting themselves, and another falling out of a tree. And on that note, when inspecting dead bodies for loot, in video games there are no consequences for diving into a dead body, in my game - it's a dead body, it may have loot, but would you ever touch a rotting corpse with your bare hands? No, it can give you diseases and could even kill you. Needless to say, a certain player dove right into a dead body looking for loot before inspecting the body to ensure they were able to do so with no consequence, now that person is deathly ill and has been in and out of consciousness and nearly dead for the past two adventures.
Here is the kicker... That certain someone is a Cleric. That's right, a healer, a medic, and an old "experienced" one at that.
I will be able to see if they live or die come tomorrows campaign. The healer is nearly dead from disease, the fighting dryad is unconscious from starvation (irony again), the stone immortal is left to watch over their almost lifeless bodies after lying about killing a helpful NPC, and the group leader who is alone and lost in the forest.
This will be interesting...

Day 5 - Apocalyptic Social Scene
The other day i mentioned the old guy had a heart attack, well it wasn't entirely because of our fighting. I should not have ignored Clementine, even for a moment. Poor girl had to go to the washroom, that's all she wanted to do. While I was in the heat of the moment to ensure Kenny's boy wasn't thrown out to the horde outside, I half-assed directed Clementine into the bathroom. It should have clicked in when she told me the bathroom was locked, I should have known not to show her the key, but I wasn't fucking thinking. Shortly after showing her the key, in the midst of arguing, I her a high scream. The group turned around to find a ghoul attacking poor Clementine. I didn't think, I just reacted as I ran to her rescue. I don't know what I was thinking, how was I going to fight this thing bare handed?
The adrenaline pumped as I went toe to toe with this thing in order to save the girl. I know now that it was stupid. The woman that saved us before opened fire on the walker, killing it - but the noise was loud enough to attract whatever was outside. This escalated the fighting between the old man, Kenny, the old man's daughter, and I. I thought it was going to turn into a free for all brawl ending with us all getting fucking devoured. Thankfully enough, though I shouldn't be saying it, the old man was having a spasm attack from his heart. Clutching his chest, he dropped like a 200 lbs doormat and allowed everything to cool down.
We found out the poor man needed meds, and this prompted one of the survivors, I think is name was glen, to run off and look for supplies. The guy said he was from around here and new the area well. We let him run off and tried looking around the store. While I was searching for some stuff, Kenny pulled me aside and thanked me for standing up for his boy. We got to talking and I made it slip that my family owned this store, or at least that I know the people deeply. I made sure Ducky was okay and headed off to find more how to get into the pharmacy in the back.
I got to know the people pretty well, I thought, as I learned the old man's name was Larry and his Daughter Lilly. Lilly was from the local air force base working on the tech side. But from what I can tell, she could probably use a fire arm pretty damn well. She seems tough and callous but after talking with her,she seems far for caring than she lets on. I know he need to look and act tough, especially with those things out there.
After making sure Clementine has some food, I headed into the office to find a way into the pharmacy somehow. Shortly after i walked in, I was confronted with the woman with the gun, I then learned her name was Carley - she warned me that she knew who I was. She knew I was convicted of killing another man and that she was one reporting on it. I thought she was going to let it slip. I didn't want to have to do anything. She assured me that she was not going to say anything as long as I didn't become a detriment to the group. I sighed with relief as she went off back to the group. I found that my parents had held themselves up in here. I found a blood soaked bedding and my pop's cane. Now I know they didn't make it. I did what I could to keep the sadness in and continued looking.
I found nothing that could get us into the pharmacy, so I headed back into the general store - that's when we got a distress call from Glenn...

Day 4 - The Family Store
Fate has a weird way of slapping us down, beating us up, and force us to call it "Daddy". I had a lot to think about on the trip to Macon, none of it good. I don't think any of this will pan out, but I couldn't let anyone know and let them lose hope. I can't lose hope myself, else I would have nothing to live for.
I was mentioning fate before, and how it never seems to be good - well, hear's why.
We made it into Macon, and to our luck, we ran out of gas once we hit downtown. We got out of the vehicle to look for some folks but found that no one would answer and our voices would echo in the empty street. Katjaa got sight of one person and ran to greet him. Damn woman doesn't learn. Turns out what she was running to, was a fucking walker. The thing caught whiff of her and lurched towards her. Damn thing attracted more of them while we were trying to get away. They were coming from everywhere. Before we knew it, we were surrounded.
Ducky was grabbed first, we tried to fight it off, but their grip is insanely strong. Next thing I know, I'm hearing a gun shot and the walker grabbing Ducky drops. We turn to find a woman running at us, gunning down the walkers while a man motions for us to run in their direction. We all moved as fast as possible while those things clutched at our heels. Their moans and gasps letting us know we had no margin for error. We moved into a shop cage and barely managed to close the thing and lock it before those things caught us.
The five of us ran into the store out of breathe and into the presence of another party. One of the members thought Ducky was bitten before we had the chance check him. He wanted to throw the poor boy outside with the walkers so we won't risk him turning inside. Needless to say we managed to convince him the boy was okay. And by convince I mean he could no longer argue because he began clutching his chest and dropped to the ground. As we were discussing how to get this man help, the realization sunk in. This was my fathers store, and he was nowhere to be found...

Civ 5 is Crack
Hello readers,
I have recently got caught up with Civilization 5 - Gods and Kings. This sucked up my day today sadly. I will be posting another installment of "The Walking Dead" game journal come tomorrow. How will our protagonist deal with the next set of events? who knows but stay tuned!
I will also be starting up a grand fantasy and start writing another journal based from the outstanding game, Baldurs Gate. I have picked up the enhanced addition and will be both reviewing that title as well as journaling it. I will try to be as unbiased as possible.
Help me steer this site to what you want to see more of by sending me feedback on what you would like to see more off and I'll do my best to accommodate it.
and no porn, at least not yet.
Until tomorrow - My the rolls be with you.

Day 3 - Shattered Peace
Morning came as I was woken up by another man sleeping in the barn. He and his family was spending the night as well before getting ready to head out. We chatted a bit and I found out his name was Kenny His family was wanting to head out to Fort Lauderdale - he introduced me to his son ducky and his wife shortly after. I ended up chatting with his wife before heading off to see if Kenny needed some help with his vehicle, and found out that she was a practising veterinarian. They managed to escape Atlanta, barely, by doing and seeing things they never wanted to. I cannot comprehend what they saw or did, but I did not push the subject. I left Clementine with her while I went off to help around the farm.
I slowly wandered off and met up with Kenny - Looking as though he was having some troubles with that old machine of his, I offered to lend a hand. He apparently didn't need any, but we got to talking and I found out that he is a commercial fisherman and has a sizable boat he could use if things got too sketchy. After chatting up about our possible options and directions, I felt that I had been useless enough and headed off to find Shawn at the back of the property fortifying the fence.
I slowly walked up to Shawn and noticed the boy on the tractor playing around. I guess Kenny was right, the boy is a little special. As I approached Shawn, while he was on his knees hammering in some sheet metal, I realized my leg was feeling better - that old man Hershel really helped out. Shawn and I got to talking about the days ahead while I cut some lumber for the fence. He is a good kid, and I owe him my life. I seemed to supply enough lumber for the time being and was asked to help out Hershel.
I ended up going full circle on the farm to help out Hershel. Hell, I toured that whole farmstead and I can't for the life of me remember what it looked like. Far to much shit has happened during this past day that I can't seem to remember where I was, what it looked like, or who I met. Hopefully I can adapt. I need to pay more attention, dazing off will get me or someone killed. As I was saying, I met up with Hershel in the barn and thought I could help out there. The old man didn't want me helping, in fact, he peppered me with so many questions I didn't know what to answer first. Hell I can't even remember the questions he asked, or the advice he gave afterword - all I do remember is hearing the tractor roar up and a cry for help.
I ran as fast as I could to help out while Hershel bolted to grab the gun. I found Shawn on the ground calling out for help while walkers started to attack the barricades to attack the boy and Shawn. As I got closer, I realized the tractor was on Shawn's leg, stupid ass boy shouldn't have been trying to turn on the tractor. In a quick panicked decision, I ran towards Shawn and tried to wrench him free, neither Shawn nor the tractor would budge. I tried to fend off the walkers with my bare hands, but it was too late. They broke through the barrier and fell upon Shawn like starving wolves to a sheep. I didn't know what to do until I heard gunshots. I turned to find Hershel running and shooting and ended up killing the walkers - but it was too late. Poor Shawn was dead in a few seconds.
Through the arguing, I found out that Kenny also came running when he heard the cried, but instead of helping, he grabbed his dumb boy and ran away, leaving Shawn to his demise while I desperately tried to save him. If Kenny only lent me a hand after grabbing his boy, Shawn might still be here.
Hershel thanked me for trying to help, but he did not want cowards on his farm and demanded Kenny and his family to leave right away. As this was my only ride, I opted to join Kenny thanked Hershel and headed off the farmstead and toward Macon...
