I left through the back of the pharmacy with Carley. We snuck through the town as quietly and quickly as possible to find Glenn. The wreak of the walkers filled this whole damned town, made me want to vomit every few steps. If I knew I could eat tomorrow, I probably would vomit. But wasting such little food would most likely mean my death. Holding back my gags and signs of great fear and displeasure, Carley and I finally made it to the Motel. Damn thing was swarming with walkers.
While I was scouting out the place, sounds of movement started coming from the ice machine right beside us. I immediately thought we aroused a walker and was about to be in another fight for our life as the only weapon with us was a pistol - and we all know that would have drawn a whole damn army of those fucking things onto our doorstep. Gritting my teeth, I stood next to Carley and awaited to see what would spawn from this dead machine. To our luck, but not to Glenn's, Glenn popped out of the machine almost wanting to be relieved as what met him was the barrel of a gun.
I quickly diffused the situation and lowered the point of Carley's gun. Glenn told us how he was surrounded by walkers and hid in the machine and hopped they would leave. He had found out that a woman was trapped in one of the motel rooms and tried to help her, but her wailing attracted the walkers and Glen found himself surrounded by the drooling and moaning monstrosities. He used some quick thinking and disappeared into the ice machine before the walkers notice him.
Damn kid almost died out there. I'm thankful he knows how to act in situations like that.
We were about to head out when Glenn pitched the idea of saving the woman in the motel. This was a bad idea, but I knew it was the right one. We got into a quick spat with Carley before I managed to convince her to help as well.
We surveyed the area and found that there were six walkers in the vicinity. There was one devouring a body in the middle of the parking lot right beside a motor home; one passively sitting up against a car near the lot entrance; one scratching at the maintenance door; one behind the motor home; and two clawing at the wailing girl's room.
We huddled behind an old truck and laid out our plan. A screwdriver found in the trucks cabin would be a perfect tool to start off, the problem was breaking into the truck. As we were devising how to get the screwdriver, I noticed a pillow. A pillow would be perfect for the first kill. I told Carley to follow me to the first walker sitting up against the car. At first she did not understand, but I was able to show her that the pillow would make a great silencer. She shot the first walker with little to no noise. We managed to get into the car, where I found a spark plug. I popped the car into neutral and pushed it into the walker by the maintenance door trapping it.
Glenn told me that a spark plug would be perfect for getting into the truck. He broke the plug, and we were able to break the passenger side window of the truck where I then proceeded to grab the screwdriver. This made dispensing the next walker easily. The one in the middle of the lot was easy enough to sneak up on and skewer the tool into the back of it's skull, dropping it like a sack of rotten potatoes. The one hiding behind the motor home would be one of the harder ones. If I screwed up here, I'd be dead or bitten... which is worse.
I lulled the walker into our general area and managed to fight it off and scatter it's brain with the primitive weapon in my hands. The rest was a cakewalk. I strutted over to the trapped walker and decorated its face with some new accessories. I may have lost the screwdriver, but I was able to gain a fire axe. The group and I walked up the stairs where I quickly beheaded the decomposing assailants. The woman cried for us to go away, but we didn't listen. We were there to save her dammit and we wee not going to leave her there to die - or that's what we had originally thought.
We managed to coax her out, but it was a horrifying surprise. The woman had been bitten. I didn't know what to do next until it was asked of me. The woman new what fate awaited her and she wanted help to end it before she became one of those things. Carley and Glenn were against it, but sometimes the right choice is usually the hardest to make. I gave the woman the gun and told Carley and Glenn to start going. I will remain to collect the gun when the deed is done and follow them back to the store.
That was the first time I witnessed a suicide... and I hope it will be the last.
